After Trivikram Srinivas, a star writer turned successful director,
its Koratala Shiva being a star writer in Tollywood, now bagged a
success with his directional debut with Prabhas starrer 'Mirchi'.
Koratala Shiva, in a recent interview given to a journalist, has given a shocking answer when asked a question that "Why did you want to become director in the first place, when you were successful as a star writer?". Shiva replied that there is no respect for writers in Telugu film industry. He was tortured by big directors when he was a writer and few directors never care for him. "To escape their torture, I became a director", he replied.
Writers turned directors list in Telugu film industry still includes Dasari, Veeru Potla, Vijayendra Prasad and youngsters like Gopi Mohan who wielded megaphone on sets. Probably they might have the same reason too to become directors.
